Hi Lorraine,

Thanks for stopping by. What can I tell you about my book? It's for sale on Amazon if you're interested in getting a copy. Shay figures prominently in one chapter.

Hi Brian,
Great story of your musical journey in Canada with Shay. Our family knew him from Dublin, through his time in Toronto while my parents were there (plus where I was born) then to So. California. He went too soon! Such a shame. Please contact me about your latest book. Thanks.

I would have enjoyed being stuck in Barbados, Doreen. I have a first cousin who is part owner of the Sandy Lane Resort Hotel, one of the swankiest hotels I've ever stayed in. He invited all the cousins (61 of us, including spouses!) to stay there for free for a week in September 2005, and we're still praying that one of these days he will invite us all again :-)

Wow, Brian! That was quite a close call for you. Glad you didn't get caught up in the post-911 travel delays.

I have a friend who was delayed about a week getting back from Barbados. I know it wouldn't be a hardship to stay an extra week in Barbados, although I never did ask her who had to pay for the extra week!

Travelling is awesome, but it certainly does come with its expected and unexpected challenges.

I went by Charly Chan's today to pick up some take out for supper tonight. I live in Edmonton. My first dinner at Charly Chan's was in the fall of 1984 - I was a new student at SAIT. Since then, I've been there with every boyfriend (and both husbands - LOL), my parents, my best friends......it was "the" place to eat! I moved from Calgary in 1989. Every time I was in Calgary since then, I went to Charly Chans for dinner. If a friend was going to be in Calgary, I would give them some money and my order. They'd pick up some take out and bring it back to Edmonton for me. Or I'd pick it up and bring it home - as was my intention today. It had been over two years since I was in Calgary - that time I picked up and brought it back to Edmonton for my family.......So sad to see it gone. Charly Chans has been a part of my life - so many memories and good times....I have the memories but I sure do wish I had the food! :-) Thanks for your write up!
