Further to my March 16 blog posting about our cancelled vacation rental in Victoria, my brief report on our experience has now been posted on the VRBO website. Here’s what I say in the report:
“Less than 24 hours before we were scheduled to check in, the owner abruptly cancelled our month-long reservation. He claimed a plumbing problem in the unit caused flooding damage requiring major repairs. We checked on the property, found it occupied by someone else, and no evidence of flooding or other damage. We are still awaiting a full refund.”
I have also reported this matter to the appropriate authorities.
