On Wednesday, October 15, I had an opportunity to do my first public reading from my Ernest Manning biography. I presented it at WordFest 2008, the annual Banff-Calgary International Writers Festival.
Also reading with me on the program were Caterina Edwards, Samantha Warwick and William Neil Scott.
Caterina has just published Finding Rosa, a moving memoir about her mother’s struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Samantha has published her first novel, Sage Island, about a young woman who finds salvation in swimming. William’s first novel, Wonderfull, is a magic realist tale inspired by Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude, where dead relatives play dominoes in the houses of their relatives.
It was a great privilege for me to read with these talented Alberta writers who shared the WordFest stage this year with top authors from around the world.Click here for reuse options!
